She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University, her associate degree in Nursing from Grand Rapids Community College, her master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and her post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati in 2017.
