As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Square Medical Group in Woburn, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. I provide psychotherapy and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of stress related conditions. Margaret Hughes, CPNP, PMHNP is a dual-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and pediatric nurse practitioner. After completing a Master's in Nursing (pediatrics) from Yale University, she provided medical care to children and adolescents at Mattapan Community Health Center and subsequently to college students at Northeastern University Health Center. Her passion for mental health has led her to obtain an additional degree as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

I am a physician Board Certified in Adult psychiatry, specializing in medication management of a variety of mental health-related problems, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, insomnia, obsessive-compulsive conditions, etc. I am also treating substance abuse-related conditions, including opioid dependence. I offer primarily IN-PERSON appointments in our office in Woburn. Telehealth appointments are optional depending on the complexity and treatment needs.

They could have a variety of diagnoses but the thing they have in common is they are willing to give the process time, are open to new ideas, and know there is no magic pill to fix all their problems. My patients want to get to the best version of themselves and are willing to try therapy as well as medications to help them reach that goal. My patient wants an empathetic, listening provider who can guide their care based on the evidence, but tailored to their individual needs.

Tanya Gershman is an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health: Science, Society, and Policy from Brandeis University and her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Her interests include addiction medicine and co-occurring disorders. With an integrative mindset, she focuses on the blend of medication management and therapeutic support. Tanya is offering in-person medication management appointments in our Newton locations, as well as telehealth appointments.
