I'm passionate about the importance of people having easy access to mental healthcare. Before joining the healthcare field, I taught in low-income and underserved communities. Seeing the impact that a lack of mental healthcare had in these areas drove me to return to school and begin a career focused on providing that much-needed care. In my eyes, treatment can significantly increase the quality of life both mentally as well as physically.

“A tree that is unbending is easily broken.” Lao Tzu (Tao Te Ching). One of Aesop’s fables, “The Oak and the Reeds,” reflects this same idea- that a rigid oak will break in a major storm whereas the flexible reeds live on. We cannot avoid life’s storms, yet we can find ways to weather them and perhaps come out the other side a bit stronger. I believe that the key to this is resilience. It is the ability to spring back from adversity. To face the winds of life while also being strong in one’s core and true to one’s value. And after the storm, to stand up straight and tall, unbroken. My goal is to help you build your resilience.

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), licensed, and Board Certified, in Psychiatry/Mental Health as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. My Philosophy is "Let all you do be done with love." If a client for instance, has depression and anxiety, we will discuss how it affects their life. Talk about what triggers make it worse, and how they handle the symptoms. For compliance, we collaborate on the best plan of care. I present the options for medications, benefits, alternatives, side effects, and encourage therapy as a great combination with the medication. The ultimate goal is to return the client to be healthy, happy and enjoy life again.

Women and men are often stuck, stressed and feel trapped in their life. Many people use things that just do not work any longer. I help them to balance body, brain, mind, and spirit. I like to use what works. It is necessary to reduce emotional distress and discomfort. I use various methods to evaluate including: interviewing, listening, DNA testing, lab tests, metabolic, brain, and nutrition assessments. Tools used are: Nutritional supplements, exercise, medications. Hypnotherapy (RTT) is used to get to the root cause, identify beliefs and make those changes the person wants.

I combine traditional psychiatric treatments, such as medication and talk therapy with complimentary approaches such as mindfulness/meditation, supplements, lifestyle coaching, and psychedelic integration.
I’m an integrative psychiatrist and psychotherapist who believes in the innate healing power of the mind, body, and spirit. I help adults who struggle with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, and PTSD/trauma harness the power of their experiences and emotions to restore self-confidence, reconnect with their purpose, pursue fulfilling relationships, and accomplish their personal and professional goals with joy. I also have a special interest in working with healthcare professionals to heal from work related trauma and find fulfillment in their career again.

By integrating pharmacological interventions, psychotherapy techniques, and lifestyle modifications, my goal is to empower you to actively participate in your mental health journey while staying true to yourself and your life vision.
Accepting New Clients: “If you’re all too familiar with the relentless thought of ‘I can’t continue living like this,’ it’s a clear sign that you’re ready for change. I approach mental health as a transformative journey through a liminal space—an in-between space where we stand on the edge of old and new or growth and change, opening the door to new possibilities and personal transformations.

Life Coaching Psychiatrists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
