I provide a variety of assessment and treatment services, including psychiatric consultation, medication therapies, individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. The conditions I primarily treat are Depression, Anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Gender Dysphoria, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Use Disorders and Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders.

I graduated with my Associate's degree in 2010. Prior to obtaining my nurse practitioner license in 2020 I spent most of my nursing career working in the mental health field. I have worked in acute crisis settings, outpatient settings, inpatient settings and with populations that include: severely mentally ill, forensics, dual diagnostic, substance abuse, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. This experience has been invaluable to me in my role as a provider, enabling me to interact comfortably with individuals of all ages and needs. Through compassionate, genuine care I build trusting relationships with my clients.

Hello! I am a caring, knowledgeable healthcare professional with over 28 years of nursing experience. I have been a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for over 8 years and am experienced with all mental health populations. I am an Air Force Nurse Corp Veteran. I understand military and civilian problems. I understand trauma, individual, and family issues. I enjoy helping all age groups of people.

My specialties include depressive disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, anxiety, psychotic disorders, and ADHD. I have been a registered nurse since 2015. My experience as bedside nurse in the hospital made me realize how important mental health is in treating patients holistically. My knowledge and experience motivated me to focus on a critical area in a person’s life that is often overlooked. I believe your feelings, emotions, and thoughts are valid. Laura is board-certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has extensive experience in the field of neurology as well as assessing, diagnosing and treating a variety of mental health issues using evidence-based methods. She is passionate about fostering a welcoming and accepting environment. She believes in collaborating closely with each patient and understanding their unique situation in order to help each person attain their optimal level of health.

Kristin is a compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who believes in treating all people equally, reducing the stigma of mental health, and going above and beyond for her patients. She has been in the nursing field since 2013, though she has been passionate about mental health for as long as she can remember. She has experience with patients from a variety of backgrounds, ages, settings, and diagnoses.

At Kentucky Mental Health Care, we provide psychiatric services such as medication management and medically assisted treatment (Suboxone and more), IOP, and TRP to both Medicaid and commercial insurance clients. The majority of our patients struggle with one or more of the following issues: ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, depression, substance abuse disorder, addiction, and/or personality disorder.

Teresa "Terre" Ament, APRN is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Kentucky who has been practicing since 2006. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kentucky, a Master of Arts in Expressive Therapies from the University of Louisville, and a Master of Science in Nursing in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Kentucky. Terre believes that people respond positively to unconditional acceptance, active listening, and gentle encouragement. She incorporates these skills into every patient visit.
