I graduated with my Associate's degree in 2010. Prior to obtaining my nurse practitioner license in 2020 I spent most of my nursing career working in the mental health field. I have worked in acute crisis settings, outpatient settings, inpatient settings and with populations that include: severely mentally ill, forensics, dual diagnostic, substance abuse, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. This experience has been invaluable to me in my role as a provider, enabling me to interact comfortably with individuals of all ages and needs. Through compassionate, genuine care I build trusting relationships with my clients.
I specialize in psychopharmacology which is the use of medications for the treatment of mental health conditions. Research shows that medication in combination with therapy produces the best outcomes. Licensed to practice in Kentucky and West Virginia. I prioritize safe prescribing practices and utilize non-controls in treatment.
Me: College drop out, teen mom, on welfare, homeless after a house fire, witness to domestic violence as a child, victim of sexual abuse, family members with addiction and severe mental illness.
