As a Physician and a Psychiatrist, I have felt distress, worries, fears, sadness, disappointment, hurt, shame, guilt, anger and frustration of my patients. I am empathic to the effects of painful feelings in their personal life, relationship and their work. Having deep sensitivity for the distress, turmoil and agonizing experiences of my patients & their families, I have continued to provide Empathy, Caring, and Emotional Support for them.; and guided them in their journey of life. I have recognized their need for total health-Emotional, intellectual, Physical, Social, and Spiritual Health and have helped them to achieve all aspects of health.

After 38 years of nursing experience, George completed advanced training at North Georgia College and State University where he earned a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. George worked for several years with indigenous people on the Cherokee Indian reservation where he found a calling to help people with mental health and addiction issues. He completed a Post-Master’s certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at East Carolina University and a certification as a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse – Advance Practice.

I help clients find relief through therapy and wholistic treatment plans that can include medication management. Together we will gently dig beneath the surface of pain and distress, and begin to work towards a deep wholeness and healing. We work together to find the roots of pain and distress, and then provide help and healing to those parts that need care. I practice by the mantra "Be curious, not judgmental."

My ideal client is someone who's motivated to improve their mental health. They're tired of being tormented by depression, suicidality, anxiety, insomnia, mania, psychosis, addictions, trauma, or a combination of these. Their goal is to experience less suffering in the form of symptom reduction and improved functioning and coping. They're in need of medication management and counseling, or they may be seeking ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) because other treatments failed, they're disillusioned with psychiatry, and/or they feel inadequately supported by ketamine providers that neglect the importance of psychedelic integration.

I understand therapies - biological, psychological and mindfulness-based treatments - as ways to help you be more present in your life, face challenges in work and in love with confidence and feel secure enough to play. I understand feelings are not just symptoms but signals to be listened too and understood in their context. I also understand patients are people, not just victims of biology or inconvenient containers for medications. Our physical state is of great importance and still, it does not exist in a vacuum. It is intimately intertwined with our DNA, life circumstances, relationships, culture and past experiences.

I am a fifth generation physician in the practice of Psychiatry on Maui Hawaii for >37 years. I come by my passion for psychiatry and the study of the mind via the tragedy of my older brothers unfortunate passage into schizophrenia which started at his age of 12 years old. Uniquely, this whole life challenge has prepared me to meet the full spectrum of adult mental health issues with a dedication and focus upon achieving recovery into fully functioning adults.
