Dr. Jacob Lee is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who earned his M.D. and completed Psychiatry Residency at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He served as Chief Fellow for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine. He works with children, teens, adults, and their families to navigate mental illness, life stage transitions, and issues of identity including gender and sexual minority care.

I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner dedicated to providing patient-centered care that prioritizes collaboration and shared decision-making. My goal is to empower my clients to take an active role in their mental health journey and provide evidence-based treatments tailored to meet their unique needs and goals. I have experience treating a wide range of mental health issues, including ADHD, addiction and substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder in clients throughout their lifespan. I currently practice psychiatry in Wailea,Hawaii as Founder/Chairman of Maui Psychiatry LLC.Since 1999 I was Consulting Psychiatrist for the Greenwich,Connecticut Board of Education. I graduated Yale Medical School and completed residency training at Stanford University Hospital and the McAuley Neuropsychiatric Institute in San Francisco. My primary objective as a psychiatrist is to accurately assess whatever challenges are being faced by my patients and to address them as quickly and sympathetically as possible.I am available for Skype and FaceTime appointments and offer a Concierge Program for individuals who desire or require a more intensive therapeutic experience.

My areas of expertise include treating Post Traumatic Stress and Trauma-Related Disorders. My approach to therapy includes promotion of healing through cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based therapy, as well as innovative evidence-based practices. With a focus on exploring lifestyle changes and skill building through therapeutic processing in conjunction with pharmacological influences. My background with SART/SANE has provided me with experience that helps me aid clients in making educated choices while processing stressful, traumatic life experiences or challenging circumstances.

I help clients find relief through therapy and wholistic treatment plans that can include medication management. Together we will gently dig beneath the surface of pain and distress, and begin to work towards a deep wholeness and healing. We work together to find the roots of pain and distress, and then provide help and healing to those parts that need care. I practice by the mantra "Be curious, not judgmental."

Many of our clients are struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or intrusive thoughts. Our clients need a listening ear and a genuine concern for the issues that affect their daily lives. "Whatever it takes," describes Dr. Rimm's 30 years of gratifying experiences as a facilitator of change (Child/Adol/Adult Psychiatrist) for so many. Comfort and confidence are a priority as each individual invests in a potential life changing experience. My ideal client is someone who's motivated to improve their mental health. They're tired of being tormented by depression, suicidality, anxiety, insomnia, mania, psychosis, addictions, trauma, or a combination of these. Their goal is to experience less suffering in the form of symptom reduction and improved functioning and coping. They're in need of medication management and counseling, or they may be seeking ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) because other treatments failed, they're disillusioned with psychiatry, and/or they feel inadequately supported by ketamine providers that neglect the importance of psychedelic integration.

Dr. Garrett Halweg began a quest for improving brain health at the completion of his residency from University of Hawaii, Queens Medical Center in 2003. He headed up a private practice in Southern California working on common disorders like depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Dr. Halweg survived multi-system organ failure because of a Leptospirosis infection from a local waterfall in November 2013, which prompted a renewed interest in optimizing physical health and mental awareness. This experience taught him lessons that shaped his life and now wants to share his story with others.
