I specialize in General and Forensic Psychiatry, I am part of an exceptional team, which operates three state-of-the-art offices offering an individualized treatment approach using psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) treatment. All general psychiatric conditions can be treated to include; depression, bipolar, anxiety, obsessive compulsive and personality disorders. Substance abuse issues are also treated in an office-based setting with a significant success rate at maintaining sobriety through our treatment approach.

My approach to patient care is holistic in nature and strives to go beyond treating symptoms by uncovering the root cause of mental health difficulties. With over 20 years of nursing experience, it has been my passion to deliver the highest quality of care with respect, and empathy for all patients. I thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I know that the healthcare field is a calling, and one of my life missions is to impact others positively. I went explicitly into psychiatry because, during high school I felt there were only a few subjects I could apply to everyday life. Everything starts with the mind, and as the famous quote states, “I think therefore I am.” First are the thoughts, whether conscious or unconscious, then feelings, i.e., emotions, and then actions. Thoughts, feelings, and actions encompass our daily lives and must be in harmony in order for us to live up to our full potential.

Hi, am the owner/ head Clinician at Hope Mental Health. When you come see me, you will get 2 providers in your care. Myself and one of my fabulous student/interns. The latter will take your medical/psych history and then I will come on and join to create the treatment plan and prescribe meds when evaluation is complete. On subsequent visits, you will see the student/intern and he/she will bring me on when needed when a change is needed to meds or the treatment plan. Our practice is integrative/functional in nature, meaning that we combine traditional psych meds with supplements, including vitamins to treat the root problem.

I moved from Charleston South Carolina to Boca Raton in the summer of 2017 to be with my wife and two daughters as she accepted a position as an oncologist at the Cleveland Clinic. I am board certified, and currently treat those with Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD and Depression. At the current time I accept Aetna, Cigna, Optum, United Healthcare, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare. My fee for service is set minimally above insurance rates.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC); I bring over 20 years of quality care of nursing with the benefit of specialized education in psychiatry and medication management. I am non judgmental and treat all my patients with respect. I empower my patients to be able to manage their mental health, either through medication alone, with therapy or with different modalities, including diet and exercise. I had a further Residency Training at SUNY Downstate Hospital Brooklyn, NY followed by a one year of Child Psychiatry training at the University of Florida. I have a fellowship in psychoanalysis from NYU and a 2 year of psychodynamic psychotherapy training at Willam Alanson White Institute , NYC.
