Hello, I look forward to meeting you! My name is Dr. Roberto Gimenez, DNP. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). I am an experienced PMHNP dedicated to helping those with mental health needs achieve optimal mental health status. I have worked in health care since 1997. I have a wide range of medication management experience across the lifespan, including PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, ADHD, OCD, Mood disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorder, as well as Veteran-centric care.

I am Medically trained Physician Psychiatrist.I had the privilege to train at Royal London & St Bartholomew’s Hospital for 4 years in various branches of Psychiatry before I moved to the USA. I had a further Residency Training at SUNY Downstate Hospital Brooklyn, NY followed by a one year of Child Psychiatry training at the University of Florida. I have a fellowship in psychoanalysis from NYU and a 2 year of psychodynamic psychotherapy training at Willam Alanson White Institute , NYC.

I am a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry who specializes in children, adolescents , adults and older adult medication management for anxiety, depression , ADHD and cyclic mood disorders (bipolar disorders). I believe medication can be helpful when prescribed in small dosages and when the patient is fully informed about what the medicine is expected to do for them. Nurse Practitioners are are not interested in labeling you with a diagnosis. We are generally far more focused in treating your distressing symptoms.

Dr. Cohen is the Medical Director of Southcoast Psycotherapy & Medical Services. In this capacity, he treats a broad spectrum of mental health issues such as anxiety, and depression. Dr. Cohen also provides medical psychiatric services for patients in need of psychostimulants for attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He is highly skilled and experienced in treating patients suffering from post – traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as sleep disorders.

My clinical expertise is in adult psychiatry, primary care and addiction medicine. I got training as a general physician from India in acute care settings from 2006 soon after my medical graduation. Since 2014 I am working in the United States as a Nurse practitioner in sleep disorders, pulmonary & internal diseases management, then started working in crisis stabilization as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in 2017.
