I am an open-minded and holistic psychiatrist who takes the whole person into account when I am treating him/her. I practice the biopsychosocial model and I also understand that not all treatment modalities work for all people. I tailor treatment goals and strategies for each individual person. I am also a big believer in combining diet, exercise, acupuncture, reiki, massage, physical therapy, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, psychoeducation, groups into the treatment plan and focusing on wellness as well.

The central concern of my work is mental suffering, it is universal, yet with unique roots for each of us. These are often confusing, even unknown. Harm may be inflicted upon our developing selves, and we may carry the pain outside of awareness. I seek to help with knowing, and with pain. Or we cannot figure out how to care for our particular bodies. They may have biological needs we cannot recognize, or again, carry hidden psychological wounds. Dr. Shiovitz is an adult Psychiatrist who has been practicing in California for over 4 years. He received an undergraduate Degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Integrative Biology and his M.D. degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Shiovitz then completed a residency in psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, Fresno. While a resident, Dr. Shiovitz consistently scored extremely high in the National Psychiatric Resident in Training Examination, which qualified him to represent his program twice in the National Psychiatric Resident Competition.

I care for patients from the paradigm that mental and physical health are so strongly intertwined that one may not fully achieve either without striving for both. I treat both a vast range of psychiatric conditions and help those who wish to better understand themselves and their relationships. My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, whole body health, coping with medical illness, and addiction medicine. Mali Mann, MD is adult, adolescent and child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in Palo Alto and San Francisco California. After finishing her medical school, she finished her residency and child fellowship at University Rochester and Kanas. She finished adolescent Medicine fellowship at Stanford university Psychiatry Department. She completed her adult and child psychoanalytic training at San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. She is a faculty member and Training and supervising psychoanalyst, adult and child at SFCP. She is also an adjunct Clinical Professor at Stanford University, School of Medicine. She published "Psychoanalytic Aspect of Assisted reproductive Technology" and collection of her poetry.

Finding a Board Certified Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, one who approaches treatment from an evidence based clinical, holistic, developmental and systems based (family, school, etc) perspective is challenging. I am committed to improving lives of children, adolescents and their families. I specialize in Autism, Anxiety and OCD disorders. I treat these through Cognitive Behavioral, Exposure Response Prevention, Family or Parent Behavioral Management therapies with or without psychotropic medications. I incorporate mindfulness, psychoeducation, sensory and complimentary interventions as appropriate.
