I am a psychiatrist working in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland. My treatment philosophy embraces a holistic approach to helping clients explore their lives and grow. I offer medication evaluation and management as well as individual therapy, utilizing the latest treatment approaches. I employ an integrative style of psychotherapy, utilizing psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and mindfulness techniques to provide individualized treatment to each client.

At times anxiety, depression, transitions in life or interpersonal relationships can begin to feel overwhelming. I provide therapy and, if appropriate, medications to assist individuals during these periods. My approach is warm, responsive and practical. My technique is based in psycho-dynamic theory and incorporates elements of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy. My use of medications is thoughtful and aims to treat symptoms while minimizing side effects.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who trained at the University of California, San Francisco. With a client- centered lens and evidence-based practice I provide psychiatric assessments, medications and psychotherapy for adults. I listen with a sincere interest to understanding your experience & concerns and with a compassionate approach teach adaptive strategies that foster wellness. Before working in healthcare, she received an art practice and art history degree from the University of California, Berkeley and completed a year of academic training in marriage and family therapy with a concentration in art therapy at Notre Dame de Namur. She received an accelerated BSN degree at Samuel Merritt University and worked for two years as an ICU registered nurse before completing her MSN degree in from the University of California, San Francisco.

I'm a Board Certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist devoted to providing comprehensive and integrative care to develop optimal mental health for children, adolescents, their families, and adults. My goal in treatment is to help people identify the areas where they are struggling and create a personalized plan that can help them get back to enjoying their lives.

In my work with clients, I prefer to use a strength based approach and I strive to understand what makes life meaningful and worth celebrating. I have experience working with a vast array of mental health issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, ADHD, OCD, and addiction. I am particularly interested in women's mental health as well as reproductive psychiatry. I utilize both psychopharmacologic forms of treatment as well as psychodynamic, DBT informed, CBT styles of therapy. I am originally from the Bay Area. I studied Genetics at UC Davis. I then went on to obtain my Masters Degree in Biophysics and Physiology at Georgetown University. I then returned to California where I obtained my medical degree from Touro University- CA.

I am a Board-Certified, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a focus on managing care for patients with anxiety, depression, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I have a passion for LGBTQ and SGM health and have a dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have always loved talking with people one-on-one and hearing their stories. Starting my nursing career in cardiology, I found myself taking the time to listen to patient’s fears and worries. In these moments, I saw how vital mental health was in conjunction with physical health, and went back to school to study psychiatric mental health.
