My philosophy is that every person has the potential to meet their goals and live a fulfilling life. It is my goal to help people strengthen their relationships with themselves and others, increase natural strengths and improve reactions to stress and challenge. The person most suited to my practice is one who is ready to commit to engaging in the work necessary for greater self-awareness and change. I see people with a variety of conditions including depression, anxiety and grief.
My specialization is chemical dependency concurrent with those issues, and working with the loved ones of people with chemical abuse. I offer individual and structured formal interventions to help work through denial and have significant experience with sexual identity and self-acceptance.
With nearly 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist and even longer working with people who struggle with addiction, I draw from a variety of therapeutic theories and techniques to create the best way to help and motivate each individual. I also find that, when appropriate, a sense of humor is invaluable in the process.
