I started in the helping field in 1993, specializing in youth and mental health. I became a full-time Professor in 2007 within the Child and Youth Care Program at Seneca College. I’ve spent my career as a Social Worker and Professor researching and teaching best practices in the helping field. I work with children, youth, adults, and couples, and provide a trusted and competent approach to help. I am a member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care, a member of Ontario Association of Social Workers, and registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Sometimes it’s a life transition or an unexpected event that prompts someone to seek therapy. Other times it’s a recognition of pain or stress that can no longer be ignored. As a psychologist registered in clinical and school psychology, my training allows me to assess and treat a wide variety of mental health concerns. My experience in school psychology provides me with a unique perspective of the challenges that parents, and their children experience not only at home but in meeting their social, emotional, and cognitive needs within the greater context of their community. I take pride in tailoring treatment to individual needs by integrating learning and cognitive profiles into the application of developmentally appropriate interventions.

I can relate to the many issues and needs of others. Some experiences are so traumatic that we may actually feel a sense of hopelessness. Some of us need help in working through trauma, self-esteem, or confidence. We can create a healthier and more adaptive life where we overall feel better and when we start to heal and feel good we are going to enjoy the many things that we have in our lives a little bit more.

I am available for text, phone call or video counselling especially if you require evenings or weekends. If you are in crisis mode I am willing to speak to you where you are in the moment. Along with a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology, and a Bachelor's in Fine Art, I have a Diploma in Welding, and my background and experience working in the trades allow me to understand and appreciate the unique challenges that come from a variety of workplaces, including as a welder, over a decade in the restaurant industry, and as an outreach worker for people experiencing homelessness.
