I help adults in their 20s-30s who want to feel happy again but are feeling stuck, lost, numb, or overwhelmed with life. My clients tell me that the pressure to choose the right degree, career, friends, or partner leads them to spiral into depression, anxiety, and other difficult feelings. They feel alone and misunderstood. They want to smile and feel like themself again, but don’t know how.

Therapy for adults and children; Couple therapy. Face-to-face and online sessions are possible. Humanistic approach, focusing on the feelings, exploring the thoughts. Whatever are your feelings - they are reasonable and important. A therapeutic dialog is a main but not only technique I use: we may draw, play the music instruments, play "make-believe", metaphorically use different items, and even dance. It helps you achieve a new level of awareness. The better you understand yourself the better you manage your life challenges, the more mindful are your decisions and actions. While talking we explore your own resources.

Life experiences can overwhelm our ability to cope, and it is courageous to seek support in dealing with these challenges. I believe therapy should be a collaborative and creative process between client and therapist that involves all aspects of oneself, so that wellness can be experienced in an integrated and sustainable way. Working in the field of holistic wellness for the past seven years, with a specific emphasis on mental health and trauma-informed practices, I am committed to creating supportive spaces for individuals to deepen their relationship with themselves and expand their capacity to engage with life.

The human body, particularly the brain, is a unique system designed for self-healing and recovery. In our busy world, it’s easy to lose the connection with our true selves. I firmly believe the essence of the therapeutic process is to reconnect and activate our natural healing abilities, helping you find your own peace in a hectic and ever-changing world. As an internationally trained psychotherapist with extended experience (as designated in Ukraine) and a student therapist of Bridge to Registration and Employment in Mental Health Program in Canada, I work with individuals 18+ across Ontario.

Career Guidance Counsellors

How do I know if I need career counselling?

Determining whether a career counsellor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counselling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counsellor.

Who can benefit from career counselling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counselling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counselling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counsellor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counselling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counselling typically last?

The length of career counselling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counselling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counsellor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counselling?

Clients can prepare for career counselling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counsellor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counsellor, particularly if the career counsellor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counselling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
