I work with children and adults who are experiencing conflict or distress associated with loss, transition or change; who may find some feelings or experiences too overwhelming or difficult to communicate using words alone, or for those who may avoid feelings or confuse issues in their use of words. The therapy I provide may suit for those who suffer from problems that stem from body related issues, concern about body image, or issues with trust. Some of my clients have impairment or trauma that may hinder the capacity for them or others to acknowledge and understand personal areas of strength and weakness.
I use experiential, somatic based and humanistic person-centered approach in my practice, in particular Dance/Movement Psychotherapy and Expressive Arts Therapy methods - both with individuals and groups. In therapeutic relationships, my role is to provide a safe environment and help my clients to get better coping and self-support skills.
The play is an essential tool for changing perspective and transformation. In therapy sessions, we can use any art tools that seem helpful for a certain person on a certain day. It could be drawing, collage, musical instruments or voice, movement or clay modeling - whatever inspires you in your journey to your true self. No artistic experience required.
