The ideal client is ready to work hard in counseling sessions as well as outside the sessions. It seems that insight evolves often during the time between sessions when given the opportunity.

Counseling is a journey and admitting that you need help is one of the hardest and most rewarding things you will do. This is an active journey that we will take together. Often we feel that activity and movement will help us to feel better, but underneath that unrest is a range of psychological processes such as depression, overwhelming stress, perfectionism, and anxiety. Choosing to ignore your issues tends to make life more difficult and places a strain on your relationships. Through our counseling relationship we will create goals, set the pace and find your path of healing.

Hello! I am a directive and evidence based therapist. My practice focuses on people who struggle with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and persistent personality disorders. I am also skilled and honored to work with individuals who struggle in difficult situations. I believe in the change process of therapy and believe in working with people on achieving their own goals and needs, and work on cultivating an environment and space to do that.

Everyone goes through hardships in their lives, and many face challenges that require some outside support and aid. While friends and family are a great resource, some parts of life are too personal or overwhelming to share with these people. Reaching out for help can be intimidating and I strive to provide a safe and supportive space that allows you to attain the support and aid you need.

I am a licensed professional counselor who has been practicing for over 13 years. My clients have covered the lifespan, ranging from age 5 through late adulthood. They have come to me seeking support with a variety of concerns, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, transition, loss, relapse prevention and trauma. I am invested in working with couples and families on needs such as parenting, communication, emotional intimacy and attachment. I apply primarily person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance Commitment, Family Systems, and play therapies, as well as creative arts and mindfulness approaches, in my work.

Stephanie Kettl was born and raised in Casper, WY. She attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies and a Minor in Sociology and then in 2005 she earned a Master of Science Degree in Counselor Education. She moved to Aurora, where she was a Treatment Coordinator at Excelsior Youth Center, treating severely at risk adolescent females from around the country. While at Excelsior, she facilitated individual, group, family therapy, along with canine and equine therapy groups. She has also completed Level I and Level II EMDR training.
