Together, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and create a plan to help move you toward your more ideal self.

My practice is half children and half adults. Having fostered and adopted myself, I am particularly skilled to assist foster and adoptive family needs. I also use play, expressive arts, sand tray and music to assist in therapy. First responders, gender non conforming, clients with anxiety, depression, thought and mood disorders, are particularly welcome. I am located in the east side of Milwaukee near the lake.

As a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor and AT Therapist my goal is to be a witness to my participant's personal growth by engaging them in an adaptive and creative path of self-exploration. My therapeutic focus is a multicultural connection between an artistic and therapeutic approach to a self-integrative healing according to the participant's needs. Deanna is a licensed professional counselor who earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Marian College at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and a master’s of science degree in educational/professional counselor tract from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin. Often described as compassionate, hard-working, creative and curious, Deanna has experience working with individuals who live with substance use disorders, chronic mental health disorders and developmental disabilities. She has worked in day treatment settings, residential treatment facilities and in a methadone clinic.

I bring to my work a lifetime of experience with many different people in many different circumstances. My early life experience as a registered nurse enriches me as a psychologist and provides me with a unique perspective in navigating the path towards healing. I believe that the psyche holds within itself the power to heal, but our egos often get in the way. Through the struggles of life, we can lose contact with our own deep well of inner wisdom. My focus is on helping individuals develop the tools to re-connect with their true vital selves and restore balance.

Encompass has been providing mental health services in Milwaukee and the surrounding area for over 22 years. We are comprised of seven highly trained master level psychotherapists, including three Art Therapists and two Child and Adolescent Therapists. The staff at Encompass provides counseling for children as young as 5 years old, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I am an anti-oppression practitioner. In addition to ensuring the physical and psychological safety of the client in the space of therapy through compassion and trust, I aim to identify and tend to the differences in power at play between clinician and client, as well as within the client’s life, in order to deconstruct them. It follows that I believe that each of us is inherently good, though our social and cultural conditioning frequently causes us to feel otherwise. Feelings such as overwhelm, grief, rage, shame, etc. are natural responses to living in a society that is too often inequitable and unhealthy.
