Wendy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in trauma work. She has worked with survivors of domestic and sexual violence for nearly nine years in various capacities. She is passionate about empowering survivors using a trauma-informed approach. She has been a certified Domestic Violence Survivor Provider for the state of Utah for five years. She has spent these five years working with clients on an individual basis and in group settings, as well as educating community members and other providers on the effects of trauma.
Wendy's treatment approach includes utilizing a variety of modalities, depending on the needs of the client. Wendy operates from a Feminist Theory framework and pulls interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Wendy works to create a space where her clients feel safe to challenge themselves, face their struggles, and begin the healing process. It's important to Wendy to meet the client where they are at and have each therapy session be person-centered. She hopes to help each of her clients live their best lives, fully love themselves, and know that they are worthy
