Over 20 years of experience working with children and families in education and ministry. My counseling philosophy is rooted in the belief that when an individual feels safe and seen, they are secure enough to share the deepest and most meaningful stories in their life journey. My therapeutic goal is for every child, teen, parent, and adult I meet to know they have been seen, at the very core of their being. By core, I mean the part of us that makes us who we are in heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit.

I have worked in a variety of settings including foster care, community mental health, schools, and 5 years of work internationally in a multicultural setting. I specialize in working with children, teens and adults to address a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, foster care, adoption, grief, ADHD/inattention, learning differences, social skills, attachment difficulties, relational problems, and trauma.

I understand that life brings unexpected transitions. I have worked in several inpatient hospitals and private practice for six years and that has allowed me to counsel military families, clients with suicidal thoughts or attempts, addicts, and those who struggle with psychosis.

As a parent, former educator, and counselor I have a unique perspective on the challenges that teens and young adults (and their parents) face as they transition from childhood to adulthood.
