Prior to joining the Lifestance team in May 2021, I have enjoyed a rewarding career providing services in the mental health field in multiple capacities working with children and adolescents within the foster care system, community settings, and adults with severe mental illness in their home environment. Treatment modalities I utilize include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (emdr), cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and motivational interviewing. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Psychology from The University of Houston (2009).

I would love the chance to assist you in learning the necessary coping strategies needed to navigate your way through life difficulties and becoming the star in a new chapter of your own story. Mental Health recovery is possible and it starts with having the courage to seek help. Taking care of your mental health is an act of self-love. There is no shame in seeking help for your mental health. I work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, and other day-to-day challenges. It is my goal to help clients identify their strengths, help you learn coping skills, gain insight into your thought patterns and behaviors; to help you navigate life’s daily stressors and overcome the greater obstacles.

Angela N. Hicks is a licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. She has a master of social work from University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, and finely honed training in diagnostic assessment & psychotherapy. She has been practicing since 2018 and has worked in different clinical settings with all population. Ms. Hicks believes in treatment philosophy that incorporates a multicultural perspective and integrated approach. She has genuine interest in the welfare of others and treats adults from ages of 18-68 years.

Our Mental Health and Social Justice Clinic provides comprehensive psychological evaluations and therapy to kids, teenagers, adults, and seniors. We provide trauma informed individual, couples, family, and group sessions including yoga, mindfulness sessions, and art therapy. We are trauma specialists in informed therapy. Our practice provides individual and group therapy services to survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and violent crimes. Our licensed and skilled team of therapists is devoted to providing quality services and our social justice team is committed to seeing you grow in the community.

At my core, it is my belief that the most important part of counseling is the rapport and trust that we build in the relationship together on this journey. I currently only work with Individual Adults. I do not provide therapy services for Children / Adolescents. I also do not provide therapy services to Couples / Married Couples.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Dora Ann Cisneros earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston. She completed an internship at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehab Hospital. She enjoys working with adults and geriatric patients. Her special areas of therapeutic focus include issues related to anxiety and depression, coping with life transitions, chronic pain management, loss and grief, chronic illness, and disabilities. She evaluates the individual as a whole, recognizing the uniqueness of each individual and their life experiences.
