I welcome both adults and adolescents to my practice. I work by creating a safe, affirming and warm environment for people to work on the issues they identify. I would like to work with people that want to explore why they are finding trouble in relationships or productivity to achieve an improved version of themselves.

My philosophy in counseling is to help others be the best version of themselves, promote healing, reach their potential with their goals, guide them on how to get there while overcoming any barriers.

Coping with stress, transitions, and life's challenges can be difficult, but it is not one that you have to face alone. My goal is to provide the support and tools that are needed to manage the emotional distress that come with unsettling times. I work with individuals all along the lifespan using a person-centered and integrative approach to meet a client's needs. While I work with clients of all ages, I also specialize in working in infant/toddler mental health and with those who have experienced trauma and violence.

I believe in providing a safe environment and building a strong and great relationship with all clients. Through my experience as a professional counselor, I have gained a strong understanding of anxiety, depression, PTSD, dissociation, and trauma related to mental health. Previously, I was working in a university mental health clinic, as well as for a non- profit organization that helps individuals relating to trauma and PTSD. Most of my experience has focused on working with adults ranging in age from 18-65, but I welcome all age ranges into counseling.

I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children and have specialized training in trauma and crisis, domestic violence, child abuse/maltreatment, and sexual assault/interpersonal violence, among others. My experience also includes career counseling and academic advising. Additionally, I have considerable clinical experience treating mood disorders, ADHD, learning difficulties, behavioral problems, family conflict, and other concerns.

Jean graduated with my MSW from Edinboro University. She has spent her professional life being a part of the helping relationship. Jean had the opportunity to work at the forensic unit, domestic violence shelter, addiction facility, and as a clinical program director for an adolescent facility. She values learning from my clients as well as sharing the knowledge.

The people I work with usually want something about themselves or their life to be different. Painful and overwhelming experiences tend to impact who they are, how they feel about themselves, and effect their relationships with others. Healing usually includes caring for wounds, learning lots, and doing things a little differently than before. People feel better about themselves - stronger, more secure, calmer, and more peaceful - as a result of therapy and healing work.

I am a bi-iterate and bicultural psychotherapist that specializes on problems that affect the individual/couple/family when generations within the household have contrasting cultural understandings. When working with individuals, couples, and families, I explore cultural differences and values to find the strengths and the coping tools.
