I received my Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in marriage, couples, and family as well as a certification in play therapy from Sam Houston State University. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Texas A&M University. I am Level 2 certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am supervised by Marion Marold Vickerman LMFT-S.

Taking the first step to seek counseling takes courage. For some, it can be scary, intimidating and uncomfortable. My goal is to help make it one of the best decisions of your life. Because therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach, I integrate various treatment models and tailor them to an individual's needs.

I am a therapist who will make myself available to you. My approach to therapy is simple . . . person (you) centered, though I use others (cognitive behavioral, eclectic, reality/choice, brief solution, etc.) based upon the need of the client. I have a proven track record of success in helping clients from a variety of backgrounds. My main goal is helping you and or your family find effective solutions. Hi, I am Tamara. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I am glad you are starting your therapy journey here! I have been in the social work field for 10 years mostly working in hospice, end-of-life settings, and grief counseling. Now in my clinical practice, I’ve worked with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, coping with terminal illnesses, caregiver burnout, compassion fatigue, and many other concerns. I feel that every life has multiple seasons and often those seasons can be difficult, lonely, and even scary. I want to help you walk through it, side by side, at your pace.

Everyone experiences different challenges throughout life that could result in physical, social, emotional, and mental distress that requires help navigating through the rough times. Gaining access to the instruments and understanding how to use the tools is necessary to locate the direction to move and continue with forward progress. I tailor therapy to meet each client’s needs to build confidence, increase self-awareness, self-acceptance, and improve their ability to manage life effectively.

While each client has unique needs, my approach is Person-centered and Humanistic. I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques; however, I have an eclectic approach overall. I sometimes draw interventions from Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also believe it is important to be multifaceted since therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so therapy will be an assimilation of different techniques that are catered to client needs.

As a LPC, I have been gifted to operate as a Counselor and I do not take my gift lightly. My goal is to be the voice for those that have never been allowed to speak up for themselves, those that have never realized the beauty they possess and especially those that have never realized their full potential in life. It is a wonderful thing when an individual realizes their worth and begins to walk in it; that is the beauty of Pearl's of Wisdom seeing the metamorphosis of the client base. Robert White is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. He has more than 30 years of combined experience working in the criminal justice, mental health and addictions field. He has worked in a variety of clinical and mental health settings (to include corrections facilities and residential drug programs for adolescents and adults.

Mothering, mother-daughter dynamics, life transitions, sex/intimacy, bringing play back into your life, & relationships are women’s issues I enjoy working with. I also work with HSPs (highly sensitive persons), TCKs (third culture kids), cross-cultural workers, and professional athlete’s wives (and other career dominated marriages). I’ve always been drawn to growth and strength-based approaches, and I use the research-based and highly successful theories of Drs. John & Julie Gottman for couples counseling.
