I am trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, an evidence-based therapy for young children between 2.5-7 exhibiting behavioral challenges such as aggression, negative attention-seeking behaviors, low self-esteem, and defiance. Many parents who enroll in PCIT express feelings of stress, frustration, and are overwhelmed by attempts to manage their child's behavior while maintaining a positive relationship.

Psychological Perspectives LLC is a group private practice located in Pleasant Hills, right off of Route 51. We are comprised of licensed psychologists, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Social Woker (LCSW) and doctoral trainees. The focus of the practice is to provide a safe and supportive environment to address treatment issues, along with building a positive and caring therapeutic relationship.

I have been helping clients of all ages, races, and backgrounds live more fulfilling, rewarding, hopeful lives for as long as I can remember. It was natural for me to become a psychologist and make my mark on the world by doing exactly what I loved to do. Although my clients continually tell me how much they are helped by therapy, I can honestly say that I am the one who is truly changed by helping others. I enjoy working with individuals who are interested in promoting well-being in themselves and in relation to others. Mindfulness instruction is available as a key component of my therapy should this focus be desired. Studies have shown that a regular practice of mindfulness supports an enriched experience of life, feelings of well being, better ability to cope with stress and pain, reduced panic, anxiety, and fear and better concentration. I currently only offer tele-health, accessible from the comfort of your own home or office.

My ideal client values compassionate and holistic mental health support, including ADHD testing. They may face challenges like depression, PTSD, anxiety, work/school stressors, substance use disorders, relationship issues, or psychosis-related disorders. Whether adolescents or adults, they appreciate my 20 years of experience and my expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Collaborative treatment is key for them; they don't want a "know-it-all" therapist. They might identify with LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse communities or come from diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds, and they value my commitment to understanding.

I am a licensed psychologist with decades of experience and extensive education/experience-not a professional counselor (LPC) with less education. My approach to therapy is goals-orientated approach and mindfulness using cognitive-behavioral therapy developing client empowerment. Counseling is for adults, age 18 and older and couples. I also provide testing for ACT 235 (Lethal Weapons certification) and ACT120 testing (the MMPI-2 exam and the Nelson-Denny Reading test) for applicants to Pennsylvania police academies, and testing for employment as police officers. I offer quick appointments and service.

I enjoy working with people who present with a variety of backgrounds and challenges. I believe that the relationship is the most important and powerful part of therapy. Whether I'm involved in play therapy with a child or problem solving with an adult client, I wish for my caring and support to be most evident. I have specialized in evaluating, testing, and treating children, adolescents and young adults with behavior problems, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Anxiety and Depression for 30 years in community mental health, in-home and private practice settings. I also work with adults with similar concerns up to age 60. I have been a Preferred Prescriber and completed BHRS/Wraparound/ IBHS evaluations for 20 years. I also work with adults who are having transition issues such as anxiety and depression regarding changes in their lives, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD.
