I believe that it is the health in you, your hope that life can be better, that is motivating you to seek therapy. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, a personal crisis or any other number of issues, but it is your desire to live and to thrive that is ultimately leading you to take this step. I believe that my role as therapist is to be actively engaged with you in the process of building on that health and hope, to create a richer, fuller life.
My primary goals as your therapist would be to: listen and explore your experiences with you; identify and understand what is blocking/constricting a healthier, more realistic view of yourself and others; and to provide opportunities to see and experience yourself differently within the safe confines of the therapeutic relationship.
In addition to individual therapy, I also offer the opportunity for group therapy which is another effective modality for personal change. It provides a safe and powerful environment to explore and experiment further with issues of self-worth, self-efficacy and intimacy.
