Holly Bruhn received her Master Degree in Social Work at Boston University. Through field placements in Boston, she gained experience working with adults in recovery from substance abuse and mental health problems in a Residential Treatment Facility setting.Since that time, Holly moved back to South Carolina and worked for a local mental health center as a school-based therapist in an elementary school. She also earned her Master Degree in Healthcare Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. She has been working in private practice in the Charleston area for the past 15 years

I work with my community from children to adults, helping them navigate feelings of anxiety/depression, trauma, grief and loss, mood disorders, etc. Healthy childhood development and relationships begin with parents/caregivers so collaborating with them is key while working with children. During therapeutic sessions I use developmentally appropriate interventions based on the client’s learning style, maturity, age, and interests. Growth mindset principles are frequently woven into my work with clients- learning new skills for managing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges require effort and perseverance leading to growth.
