We all have difficult times in our lives, and our reactions and thoughts can lead to or exacerbate anxiety, depression, and other unhealthy disorders. I work with teens and up, and I have extensive experience working with college students to help them find balance, motivation, and overcome their fears of "adulting." I use CBT, REBT and Reality Therapy. I believe it's not so much about negative experiences we have as it is about our ideas about these experiences. I teach how to reframe, set boundaries, and change how clients perceive situations to help reduce or remove negative emotions so they can live full and happy lives.

It takes courage to ask for help, but the rewards of doing so can lead to a lifetime of fulfillment. I understand and have experienced the emotional challenges life has to offer. In working together, we will cultivate growth by understanding the obstacles that you face and develop solutions that can help you gain control of your life and achieve your goals. I am a Florida native who moved to South Carolina to escape the heat and experience seasons. I studied Community Health and Health Education at the University of North Florida, which led me to work within the corporate wellness industry. Recognizing the connection between physical health and mental health I transitioned to a career in counseling. I obtained my Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.

At Palmetto Assessments and Learning Services, we specialize in psycho-educational evaluation services for a variety of learning, social/emotional, and behavioral disorders including; dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, autism, intellectual disabilities, etc. Additionally, we conduct evaluations for those interested in assessing giftedness, those who are seeking additional information for entry into or seeking supports in private school settings, and those seeking Independent Educational Evaluations.

As a psychotherapist, I provide a safe, non-judgmental setting for someone to think out loud, process his/her feelings, and brainstorm options and possible solutions. I have worked extensively in school- and community-based settings and work extensively with school-age children, but also see preschoolers at risk for future school difficulties and adults seeking accommodations at their college/university due to attention and/or learning problems.

Lynne became a counselor based on the realization that individuals carry knowledge and beliefs about themselves that, at times and for various reasons, they are unable to access.
