Hello, I am Rhonda Smillie, M.Ed, LPCC practicing in CA. I approach therapy with a curious mind and an open heart. I incorporate many modalities to help get to the issues at hand. I focus on relationships, with self, others, and the community. This includes anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and addictive disorders.
I approach therapy with curiosity and non-judgment. I find that utilizing cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, relations frame, and unconditional regard for my clients has led to success with therapy.
During the first session, the client can expect a lot of listening from me. I want to create a space where one feels very comfortable and is able to be vulnerable. I will spend time on how therapy works and give permission for the client to disagree with me.
