I work from the belief that people hold within themselves the ability to change. Often our greatest change comes at times of transition. Transitions -- be they of community, health, age, gender identity, or relationship origin -- present a need for careful decision-making and support. When confronted with hard challenges, many of us need someone simply to assist us in looking at our lives, recognizing our strengths and supports around us, and developing strategies to bring about the change we desire.
My work is to listen deeply and assist people in identifying their own sources of power. My experience comes from working with social change activists, families in hospice, people in rural communities, adolescents and children with special needs, and those experiencing identity and transition issues.
Working together, we evaluate options, clarify values, and creatively engage skills to build a life worth living. In this time of global health crisis and in order to include those in rural communities or with limited access to therapy services, I am glad to provide tele-therapy. I offer online DBT groups to support ongoing development of skills.
