Every relationship at some point experiences hardship and difficulty. It takes a lot of effort and energy to make a relationship succeed and stay close connected and intimate. Whenever there is brokenness, my goal is to take those broken parts and bring them back together to make a whole relationship again.

I truly believe that all people want to and deserve to feel good and be happy. Much of our lives are spent trying to achieve these goals yet we continue to feel disappointed and like something is missing. I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, conflict in relationships, difficulty with emotions, trauma, shame, or even a general sense of hopelessness or discontentment in life. My hope in therapy is to come alongside you and make sense of what you are feeling and/or experiencing while working toward healing and wholeness in yourself and your relationships.

My ideal client to work with is one who comes ready to look at the why behind the what, going deeper to understand the roots that cause one to act and think the way they do. The purpose and goal in being curious about the roots is to heal from the wounds and deep-rooted beliefs about ourselves and the world that we have picked up along our own journey in life. The benefit of this work is to live more freely in the Truth of who we were created to be, not allowing fear and past wounds to control one’s life. This growth can equip and lead to more safe, connected, and healthy relationships with ourselves and our loved ones.

Life is a journey, a journey that is most difficult when traveled alone. I strive to walk with clients on their path towards healing and happiness. Working from a client-centered approach, it is essential for me to understand each client as an individual to develop trust and a partnership in therapy. Relationships, trauma, careers and other stressors take a toll on a person's ability to flourish. I believe that each person has potential for growth from those experiences. My goal is to help you regain your footing on your path to living a full and vibrant life.

Change is about hope, about effort, about personal growth. My goal as I work with clients is to help facilitate that effort as they strive for the growth they desire. I believe change occurs by awareness and establishing one's authentic vision of who they wish to be--as an individual, a parent, a partner, a friend. Being a human is hard sometimes; especially if we were not taught the skills needed to successfully navigate through life. Many people have not been excused from experiencing life issues, and partnering in therapy can be a great way to explore life moments in a safe and confidential manner. I specialize in EMDR, a form of therapy that helps reduce emotional intensities brought about from unprocessed past experiences. I also utilize DBT, a skills-based form of therapy that teaches mindfulness, skills to help regulate emotions, relationship skills, and strategies to tolerate distressing situations.

I work with adolescents, adults, and families to break generational cycles. I guide and empower individuals to take back control of their lives and become their best self. I have had to overcome hardships that were placed in my life and through counseling, I was able to take back my life! I believe that every individual deserves a safe space to heal. I will provide an atmosphere where people are free to experience change. I believe change is capable of everyone. I believe in our scars telling our story of healing. I enjoy my role, as a counselor, in providing a safe and compassionate place for individuals to feel seen and heard. I enjoy working with individuals that are aware that they need to do something different but aren't sure what the next step is. This could be parents concerned about their child's behavior, needs at school, adolescents and adults going through life transitions, mental health concerns or just needing a safe space to talk and process life. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health needs and also have over 10+ years of experience in the public education system.

I’m here to help clients with various mental health needs - from depression and anxiety to trauma and relationship issues. The most important part of therapy is the client-therapist relationship and I strive to build those relationships so my clients can be successful in their mental health journey. Many of my clients come to me with little hope for the future and I want to partner with them for a positive experience.

I have been a counselor for 12 years. At this point, I only counsel females age 14+. My career has focused on anxiety, depression, self-worth, personal growth and development, adjustment issues, relationship struggles, communication problems, premarital counseling, etc. I have a strong desire to help people walk through their struggles, no matter how deep-rooted or surface level they may be, to help them become their best self.

For 30yrs, I have had the distinct privilege of working with hundreds of traumatized clients, couples, & fellow mental health professionals. Though many are shattered by grave emotional injuries, they find a way to rise up, face themselves and others, heal bravely, and transform their lives. Through one-on-one counseling or group sessions, I utilize take-home tools and day-to-day life applications to help my clients experience the freedom associated with self awareness and self acceptance. My name is Felicia Typaldos and I am a provisionally licensed professional counselor here at Counseling Group of the Ozarks. In my free time I enjoy playing with my two cats, watching anime, reading books, and learning. I like learning so much that I graduated from Missouri State University twice. Once for my bachelors in psychology and once for my Masters in clinical mental health counseling. My path to being a counselor began with personal tragedy involving the sudden death of a loved one. I went to therapy and it was an immense help while I tried to hold myself together.
