Trauma is often weaved in and through the fabric of our lives. Many think of trauma as one large scale traumatic event. However, complex trauma is not always a single event. It could be a failed attachment to our care takers, experiencing abuse/neglect, multiple losses, shattered relationships, or the inability to protect ourselves emotionally with healthy boundaries. The most disturbing part of a trauma is not only the event itself, but how we perceived the event, and the internalized negative core beliefs about ourselves that developed.

Denise has a decade of experience in the mental health industry. She works in the treatment of mood disorders, depression, stress management, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, parenting, marriage, codependency, infertility, and adoption. She also works with clients to help them find motivation; move through life challenges and changes; reestablish their self-esteem and confidence; as well as find resolution with family conflicts. She has experience with the Enneagram, Boundary setting, and Attachment styles to help learn how to navigate relationships. She enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and seniors.

I provide a compassionate therapeutic environment that invites you to explore and to seek solution to resolve those struggles and challenges. My greatest strength is empathy, the ability to put myself in the shoes of my client to understand what they are feeling. I work with all ages, from children with ADHD to senior citizens with cognitive decline. Sometimes the client needs to build a toolbox, and other times, we can teach the brain new ways of processing information.
