I am also trained in EFT (emotionally focused therapy) and have completed Gottman Level 2 training for couples counseling.
Let's face it- modern life is hard. We've got every convenience at our fingertips, yet many of us are more lonely, anxious and overwhelmed than before. If you are struggling with any of these issues, you are not alone. Despite what many of us were taught, as human beings, we aren't meant to deal with these issues alone. My therapeutic approach is a collaborative one, where we approach therapy knowing you are the expert on your life. Together, we will explore the deeper meaning behind your experiences, address painful thoughts and feelings, and build a life that highlights your strengths and reflects what is important to you.

Today, the world is moving very fast, often not allowing individuals time to do self-care, self-reflection, or personal/family needs assessments. I can help you slow the pace down and focus on your individual or group needs. For others, the world is unrecognizable, adjusting has become complex, and adaptation has proven complicated. My role is to help you find yourself and your strengths amid life, emotional, psychological, relational, spiritual, and physical challenges.

Over the past 15 years, I have worked with a wide variety of clients and issues, with a primary focus on anger management, communication, couples, mood disorders and assisting people with solving problems that have become overwhelming.
Counseling is an opportunity to sit back with an objective other to explore problematic areas of one's life and work towards making it more fulfilling. Whether you are experiencing a diagnosable disorder, difficulties in responding to life stressors, challenges with communicating with others or find yourself feeling stuck, talk therapy has been shown to be a highly effective option in improving your life. I count myself very lucky to have a vocation that I love doing and am regularly amazed at the inner resources that clients have proven capable of drawing upon to improve their relationships and their lives.

Some common life experiences that I work with are anxiety, depression, addictions, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship issues, and imbalances in overall wellness.
Now offering in person sessions! “The problem is the problem, the person is not the problem.” - Michael White and David Epston. Hello! My name is Paige, and I am here to listen. You are unique and so is your story, and it does not have to end in just one way. At some time or another, every one of us will face difficulties; reaching out to a new counselor can be a scary thing! No matter where you are in your life, I will meet you there with a calming, warm, nonjudgmental, and non-blaming presence to help you identify and work through whatever is weighing heavy on you and holding you back from living to your desired potential.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
