This may sound odd to the lay person but my vast working experiences in places like foster care, drug and alcohol, mobile mental health services to children in their own home has truly prepared me to get a really good sense of how to get to the root of the problem and provide the necessary support to clients not strictly coming from an academic viewpoint.

JSTS treats a spectrum of patients with ages ranging from five throughout the lifespan, struggling with symptoms or diagnoses of myriad afflictions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and ADHD.

Having extensive experience, I use empirically supported therapies, and have treated a wide range of ages as well as the most serious disorders. It is my belief that salient therapy treats a client in 3 different directions: top-down (spiritual dimension), inside out (healing of memories), and outside-in (Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). After a thorough assessment, I would identify with my client, determine problems on which to work, set appropriate goals, and determine the correct therapeutic intervention(s) to be used. Meeting those goals would be a therapeutic benchmark throughout the therapy.

Currently, I'm only accepting male clients who have been sexually abused and/or assaulted. I work with men of all ages, including older men who have never talked about being sexually abused. While there are many female therapists who work well with male sexual abuse survivors, I believe being a straight male therapist with a wife and family helps. I also specialize in helping adult men with depression, anxiety, and other histories of trauma, such as physical and emotional abuse.
