I work to help people find greater meaning, clarity and purpose - especially at important crossroads of change. Our view of self can be altered through past trauma, divorce, relocation, loss, illness, and new opportunities for growth can be embraced. Symptoms of anxiety, depression, and past trauma can lower motivation and activate old ways that no longer serve you today.

Are you overwhelmed by negative self-talk? Maybe you feel that no matter how hard you try, you somehow seem to miss the mark you set for yourself. Are you struggling with a sense of overwhelming anxiety, and your usual methods of coping are just not working anymore? Perhaps you've been hesitant to seek professional advice because you had a bad experience with a therapist, or you simply dislike labels. I am here to lend a hand. I strive to practice in a way that is most comfortable for my clients. For some, a diagnosis feels like validation; for others, it's a prison. I am happy to provide the service that best suits your needs.

I believe that anyone can benefit from therapy. Whether you’re facing life’s challenges, experiencing anxiety or depression, or you are just interested in growth and strengthening your sense of self; we all need a neutral person to talk to from time to time.

I work one-on-one with adults who are seeking to heal from trauma and loss, to understand and accept themselves more fully, to feel more present and connected, and to pursue new directions of personal growth. Many clients come to my practice seeking a path beyond traditional “talk therapy”—a space where they can explore healing and growth in ways that honor their unique identities and the richness of their lived experiences.

Aloha! I believe that we are intrinsically whole, and our common human journeys reveal this wisdom. My therapeutic approach is relational, holistic, person/spirit-centered, and body-oriented with a deep trust and respect in one’s inherent dignity, wisdom, and compassionate capacity to heal and connect with oneself and others. I am open-minded, empathically engaged, and I work from a sensitive trauma-informed lens of curiosity and collaboration. An intentional use and appreciation of the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle of nurturing self-reflection and discovery, courage, and agency are at the heart of my work with individuals.

I see my job as helping you reconnect to and live from your inner truth. Do you feel you have been living in ways that feel like "not the real me"? Together we can uncover and validate what makes sense about unwanted behaviors and find the important impulse that lives underneath. I believe we each have wisdom inside that gets covered over with protective strategies, like the sun behind the clouds. I work with individuals and couples to facilitate reconnection to the heart of self and others.

I have had the privilege of witnessing people undergo the slow, extremely subtle and remarkable journey of healing and self-transformation. This process of psychological growth is astoundingly complex, multilayered, circular and even mysteriously numinous in its unfolding. My philosophy as a therapist is primarily on core transformation rather than merely symptom management and needless to say, I strongly believe in the centrality of the therapeutic relationship as a significant healing agent. Moving towards our wholeness necessitates the courage to first move into the wounded parts that we all have as members of the human species.

I support outdoor adventurers and their mental health. People I work with feel most alive outdoors, and find their activities or sport are an important part of their life and identity. Our work may focus on: managing a sense of daily well-being, processing the impact of childhood wounds that may still have an impact in the present day, or processing the impact of a mountain-sport or river-sport related trauma or loss. Many adventurers have already successfully begun healing through adventure, and want to supplement their own work in the supportive presence of someone who understands the significance of this part of their life.

It's hard to be a human living in an often dehumanizing and disconnecting society. Many of us are taught from a young age by our families, peer groups, and the systems we grew up in to stuff our feelings down, ignore traumatic things that have happened to us, put on a happy face and be as "normal" as possible, at great personal cost to us. It hurts to have to carry the burden of our emotional pain on our own, with few real outlets of release. I became a therapist because I see therapy as a safe haven where the darker and more painful aspects of life are free to be witnessed with empathy, processed, and healed from.
