The story of our lives often shape our day to day experiences. As we open up to our story and how we ended up at a certain space in our lives, we begin to see patterns. We begin to see unhealthy ways we have responded to people, relationships that have been less than productive, or events that unfolded different than we had hoped. In order to grow and set a new course, we need to identify the patterns that have lead us here. Therapy is about doing just that - uncovering underlying, most the time subconscious, ways of thinking, so that we can become the people that we want to be.

I feel disconnected and alone. I don't have anyone around that really understands my problem. I don't want to burden my friends and family with my concerns. I'm worried someone will judge me if I tell them the truth. Have you had some of these thoughts? Fear of being judged or burdensome keeps a lot of people from finding the help they want.

I love working with clients across the lifespan. I csee children as young as elementary school and work with clients/families up into the time of death. I have provided many of these services in-person in a hospital or home care setting while working 10 years in hospice & oncology programs. Supporting folks during their grief is my specialty, whether due to changes in the life cycle, chronic illness, and terminality. I also personally am a guardian and caregiver for my parent who lives with Bipolar Disorder and advanced Alzheimer's Disease, so I bring several years of personal advocacy and practice experience based on this role.

There have been times in my life where I've looked around and realized that I am not where I want to be and understand how lonely and frustrating that can be. There are many things that get in the way of us reaching our full potential. It may be that we are stressed and unsure how to deal with life experiences or just an overwhelming sense of fear or sadness. Whatever the reason, my hope is to help support and encourage you to understand yourself better and how to best respond and cope with life's emotions and situations.

Our counselors use a variety of treatment modalities to best meet the needs of each individual and family we serve. We have many counselors who are experienced in working with individuals across the lifespan. We believe in collaborating with our clients to achieve optimal outcomes. Adam is a U.S. Navy (FMF) Corpsman and Iraq war veteran who has dedicated himself to helping individuals and their families recover from trauma/PTSD and moral injury. Adam also brings several years of experience working with adults and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, anger management, family/relationship issues, substance abuse/recovery maintenance, mood disorders, grief/loss, and religious trauma. Adam is trained in Brain spotting, CBT/CPT, DBT, ACT and a variety of other integrative and evidence based modalities which he utilizes for trauma treatment and to help his client(s) process the roots of their problems.

I believe people can change, because I see it daily with my clients. I believe it because I lost over 130 pounds. My specialties include couples counseling, grief and loss, and trauma. I also have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. I know therapy can feel intimidating. Before becoming a therapist, I was a client and worked with a therapist on ways to improve my quality of life. This experience taught me what clients need. I know that the client/therapist relationship is the most important aspect of treatment. The better the relationship, the more healing that occurs.

I enjoy working with persons from all different walks of life. I work with individual, couples, families, and children, but particularly feel a passion to work with persons who are struggling with new transitions in their life such as grief, trauma, divorce, and relationship conflicts. I have worked in community mental health with individuals, couples, children and families with various diagnosis such as ADHD, ODD, trauma, depression, anxiety, conduct issues, and school based related issues. I also enjoy diving into theological conversations leading to liberation, strengthening one's faith, and helping integrate faith, spirituality, and relational health for those interested.

This includes working closely with the school, juvenile system, and medical practitioners, as well.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

Our staff of counselors, who specialize in trauma and attachment issues, delight in helping you deal with relationship issues in your family, anxiety and depression, parent/child issues and many other mental health issues. While we are known as a Christian counseling center, we work with you where you are in your life and assist you in dealing with the issues you bring to the therapeutic relationship. Treatment processes range from traditional talk therapy to Attachment Based Relationship Therapy.

I believe that my role is to help guide you in becoming more aware of any barriers that may be in the way of allowing for change and growth. I come from a holistic frame of mind and believe that one can regain balance of mind, body, and soul with just being open to the idea and process of change. In addition to traditional therapy, I also offer Equine Facilitated Learning sessions and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions through Strides to Success as a way to support a more holistic healing.

I want to help those individuals/families who are struggling to make sense of the chaos, look for understanding insight, and make those changes that will help them to start feeling more hopeful and excited about life again.
