As an LPC with 20+ yrs of experience, I feel honored to be able to work with many different clients during what is often a vulnerable time. I bring empathy and compassion to therapy sessions, which may focus on trauma, anxiety, depression, postpartum/perinatal mood disorders, eating disorders, infertility, parenting and addictions. I also work with grief and loss, including pregnancy and child loss. I specialize in navigating relationship crises, infidelity and narcissistic abuse. Many clients are LGBTQ+, and come in for gender affirming care. I am the founder of Falls Church Wellness Center, a mental & physical health facility.

We all have anxieties. We have defenses against hurt that we build up over time, that become solidified into unproductive patterns of behavior and prevent us from living our best lives. Through effective problem-solving and coping strategies, one can also begin to work through any internal or external conflict they are experiencing that may be impacting any personal or interpersonal relationships. I am a huge believer in holistic wellness and that it is important to look at the whole person not just a single part.

Jordi Izzard, NCC, LPC, grew up an American in South East Asia, received her undergraduate education at Duke University, worked in Corporate America for a decade, all prior to obtaining her Master's degree in Community Counseling (her true passion) from Marymount University. As a Licensed Counselor at Sunstone Counseling, Jordi works collaboratively with clients, helping them to reflect on experiences and to face life's challenges in ways that bring them to greater self-awareness and deserved contentment.

Trauma refers to any moment in our lives that we were unsafe in some way. Big or small, single events or years-long patterns-if we aren't able to process it, we store it.
