Tessa Basco earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Akron in 2015. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with 10 years of experience in the field. Tessa specializes in treating the lifespan and has experience with people of all ages; with a specific focus on treating adolescents and young adults.

I currently focus my practice in helping individuals (children/adolescent and adults) and couples to overcome anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship struggles, life/family changes, and parenting issues. The goal is for each person to use self-compassion and personal connection in learning how to identify strengths and resilience to face the challenges of life.

I work well with a variety of personality types and presenting concerns, ranging from core attachment injuries to trauma to infidelity to anxiety & depression among others. I have had the opportunity to work with adolescents, adults, and families in both individual and group settings. In my work with adolescents, I have provided care for children and teens who report issues regarding suicide, depression, anxiety, family concerns, and behavioral issues. I have training in art and play therapy and specialize in the unique needs that children and adolescents face. I utilize a strength-based approach with each individual to help them achieve their goals toward wellness. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor-supervisor in the state of Ohio and received her graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary.
