Laurie is a Professional Clinical Counselor specializing in post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders and family conflict. Laurie employs dialectal behavioral therapy, experiential therapy and rational emotive therapy. Laurie's goal as a therapist is to assess individual and family needs, focus on the client's relationships, and to help regulate emotions. This knowledge helps clients understand how their emotions and memories shape their lives today.

Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT, and mindfulness are evidence-based practices that she utilizes in sessions to help individuals achieve their future goals and overcome current struggles.  While these are her preferred interventions, she realizes that each person has individualized needs, and therefore needs individualized care. ​

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, and substance abuse disorders. Feeling anxious or sad can be scary and lead to feelings of confusion, loneliness, fear, and shame. I can help you develop and implement healthy coping skills and boundaries which will allow you to feel more in control of your life. It is important to recognize that a patient’s family may also need support and assistance throughout this process. With my guidance, the family will develop an understanding of the patient’s symptoms and gain skills that will lead to healthy boundaries and support for the patient.
