My goal for the counseling relationship is to create a safe environment while offering support to clients struggling with feeling alone, misunderstood, or lost. I show up for clients with an open mind and an opportunity to share their thoughts, express their feelings, and explore their experiences. Therapist specializes in serving middle and high school age youth but is available to work with adults as well.

Hello! I am a board-certified Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I strive to assist my clients to move through challenging experiences by helping them with understanding the power of the mind/body connection. The hope is that once this connection is better understood, an individual can reconnect to their life fully. I have had the privilege to work in community, school, and hospital environments as well as private practice settings with children to adults.

Therapy sessions with me are trauma-, CBT- and DBT-informed. Sessions can be solution-oriented and/or psychotherapeutic. We can work on specific emotional regulation and/or social skills, process identities, set and plan goals, connect you to resources, and more. We can focus on identity development, transgender journeys, disability as an identity, anxiety and depression, chronic illness, queer/polyamorous relationships, and/or being religious and LGBTQ+. Hello there! My name is Katie and I'm a licensed professional counselor in the state of Ohio. I have a passion for working with teens and young adults struggling with, but not limited to; stress and anxiety, depression, OCD, self-esteem, and other phase of life issues. My approach to therapy involves utilizing Person-Centered Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to create an environment of problem-solving by building on personal interests and strengths. However, I adapt my approaches to best suit the needs of my clients!

This is your journey, and as your therapist, I can be a helpful guide along the way. Sometimes folks are afraid of "starting over with a new therapist" or "having to rehash the past". It's totally valid to be nervous about opening up to a new person, practically a stranger, but the good news is, we can start right where you are! I have found my "home" as a therapist with the intervention called EMDR, but have witnessed the benefits of other interventions I am trained in including: CBT, DBT, CAMS, and Expressive Arts Therapies. Suicidal ideation, depression, and trauma (including surviving abuse) are my specialties.

I work with adolescents and adults with a range of mental health concerns (including anxiety, mood instability, and trauma). Whether you are experiencing gender dysphoria or have questions about sexuality, I engage in a gender affirming, sex and kink positive philosophy. I support those who have been formerly incarcerated or are supporting someone currently incarcerated, have experienced miscarriage, require post-abortion counseling, as well as people living with chronic illness, disability and/or neurodivergence.
