I am an LCSW-R with years of clinical experience helping individuals and couples improve their lives. I have extensive experience working with individuals and loved ones impacted by addiction. I currently see clients remotely who reside in the state of NY. I also see clients in-person in Garden City, NY.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, school related issues and peer relationships among teenagers and young adults. I offer an integrative style of cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, mindfulness and supportive counseling. I also specialize in and offer family counseling to aid families in developing effective communication strategies and minimize conflict at home.

My therapeutic approach is earnest, flexible, and collaborative in nature. Whether it is learning new coping strategy, helping you connect to your feelings and thoughts, or making sense of something that seems confusing, my aim is to be a fellow traveler alongside you, curiously exploring and offering new perspectives to your experiences.

If human beings are hard wired to be in relationships, then why are they so difficult sometimes? Especially after the past couple of years (did someone say pandemic?), we can find ourselves going through conflict and stress with loved ones. Struggling to find ways to cope and communicate may lead to endless arguments or feelings of hopelessness. You don’t have to be alone in the struggle. I work with both couples and individuals experiencing addictions, anxiety, depression and loss. I approach therapy as a creative conversation that not only helps to "put out the fire" but also to figure out how it started to begin with.

I offer counseling and psychotherapy to adults in a confidential and supportive setting, and I am able to address various issues including: marital, depression, anxiety, difficulty controlling anger, workplace stress, family issues, phobias, and many others. Daytime, evening, and weekend appointments are available. Most insurance policies are accepted and a sliding scale is offered for individuals without health insurance. I can also arrange a referral to a psychiatrist for medication when necessary.

Jennifer is passionate about working with clients to create positive lasting change through non judgmental exploration of past experiences, patterns and current challenges. Jennifer has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, specializing in the treatment of depression, trauma and anxiety. Based in a holistic approach, clients are supported and guided in achieving their goals. Jennifer assists clients in creating an insightful, safe journey to healing.

Deciding on counseling for your relationship takes courage. Yet, living in conflict and pain only causes more pain and anguish and confusion as to what to do. In my session I provide an emotionally safe space, to share and explore the dynamic, the wants, needs and all the variables that both of you need to communicate. I'm very neutral and non-bias, I commit myself to supporting you both. As a mediator in addition to my counseling, it is my skill to remain fair and impartial. Many people seem to have lost their way; they have followed paths they believe they "should" take and find themselves asking why they are not as happy as they expected to be. At the heart of therapy is empathy, i.e. the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. My empathy for clients enables them to identify their feelings and needs, and accept and value them. This allows them to empathize with others and form meaningful relationships. While therapy requires work and commitment and can thus be challenging, it is well worth the investment of time and energy.

She is licensed and trained to provide guidance and encouragement to adolescents and their families as well as adults who are struggling with social and emotional issues, stress management, behavioral problems, trauma, bereavement and much more. She guides all of her clients using evidence based therapeutic practices and prides herself in helping her clients to maintain accountability, develop self-reliance, and achieve healthy interdependence.

Patricia graduated with her masters degree in Psychological Studies with a Concentration in Sports Psychology in May 2014 and her masters degree in Professional Counseling in 2017. She then received her masters degree in mental health counseling at Seton Hall University and has two years of experience providing counseling with young adults and adults. Patricia has gained her experiences training in an outpatient hospital for mental illness, an addiction setting and a college campus setting.
