Hello and welcome to my practice. Asking for help is not easy, so I am so glad you are here! Therapists are not a one size fits all and finding the right fit for you, your family, and/or your child is so important for therapy to be successful. My approach with clients is always collaborative, genuine and warm, and I use both empathy and humor. I am client-centered, strengths based, and solutions focused. I utilize multiple therapeutic modalities to correspond with the needs of each individual client, meeting them where they are at.

We understand reaching out for assistance is difficult. Treating our clients with dignity and compassion is our standard. Our mutual goal is getting RESULTS for our clients.

My passion is helping you make choices: the choice of how you want to view yourself and the type of life you want to lead. Working together as hardy co-explorers, we will probe where you are in life, where you want to go and how best to get you there. You are the captain of your fate and the master of your soul; my goal is to provide you with a space in which you are free to understand and embrace yourself as captain and master, empowering you to make healthier life choices.

My philosophy is simple in regards to problem solving, effective communication, improving relationships, working towards reaching a personal maximum potential and in healing from trauma. It’s to identify thoughts, feelings, wants, and needs. I believe that as soon as a person is able to communicate these four insight oriented drives, life immediately begins to improve and problems get solved. While this may sound easy, for many people it takes time to gain insight, self-evaluate, uncover and accept why we are the way we are (ie: biology and life experiences), decide on and follow through on changes to make in their life.

My diverse background has allowed me to help individuals around the world to reach their personal goals and guide them, step-by-step, to achieve higher levels of success. I am a psychotherapist specialized in helping those struggling with daily stressors, depression/anxiety, relationship difficulties, chronic pain, and problems associated (e.g. career, college) eating issues, substance abuse, as well as suicidal and non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors. I have particular expertise in working with individuals from a multicultural perspective, including but not limited to, LGBT populations and providing psychotherapy in Spanish"

One of the most challenging steps in the process of facilitating change is that in which the person realizes a change is needed. A client may seek my counseling services, specifically, for a number of reasons. In a broad sense, I provide psychotherapy to individuals who may be facing a stressful life event / change, who are struggling with depression or anxiety, or may be looking for assistance developing the coping skills necessary to succeed in their life. I also specialize in working with individuals suffering from anticipatory grief due to the impending loss of a loved one, caregiver burnout, and bereavement.

I have a life long dedication to helping others.. I have been a clinician for over 15 years and have helped many people with a multitude of issues. My career has focused on assisting clients with various methods, I am extremely person centered and tailor each treatment for the client's needs. I have experiences and overcome many life challenges myself, and only use these to fuel my drive to help others.

I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. My experience working in substance abuse and mental health outpatient facilities has given me the ability to work with a multitude of clients, including those who struggle with anxiety, depression, significant trauma, grief/loss, addiction and recovery, relationships, and low self-esteem. Board Certified Psychotherapy services provided plus NYSOP approved Clinical Supervision toward LCSW. We provide EAP services as well. Our office is private inside a modern professional ADA accessible building with an elevator. Our therapists are seasoned experienced NYS Licensed and Registered Psychotherapists who works with children 3+ adolescents, adults, couples, older adults, and provide marriage and family counseling. I strongly believe that the most important characteristics a therapist can possess are being emotionally and spiritually available and present, being willing to bear witness to the pain of the client, having the tools to "assist" the client on their journey, and understanding that everyone's road to recovery can look different.
