I center my work with the Hispanic population and conduct sessions in Spanish and English. In my practice, I serve adults, adolescents, children, families and couples for over 20 years. My professional orientation is client-centered and problem solving/solution focused – integrating cognitive and family systems approaches. I offer brief, intermittent and longer term treatments, individual, couples, and family therapy. Referral problems typically include mood disorders, relationship, parenting, family, adolescent behavior and adjustment problems, trauma and abuse issues, anxiety disorders, loss and bereavement and marital issues and post-divorce adjustment.

Dr. Plunkett is a pediatric neuropsychologist providing evaluation, consultation, and behavioral therapy. There are many reasons why children are referred for neuropsychological evaluation. Children suspected of having a developmental disorder (e.g., intellectual disability, ADHD, or learning disability) often require evaluation. Children diagnosed with a medical disorder (e.g., epilepsy) or who sustained a head injury may require evaluation for treatment planning. At times children are also referred because they are struggling for unclear reasons and an evaluation is needed to clarify what may be contributing to their presentation.

I am a licensed clinical social worker, certified psychoanalyst and PsyaD candidate. Whether we are struggling inside of ourselves, with a loved one, or our children, it is helpful to understand why we may be struggling, and what we can do to change things in our lives. Anxiety and /or depression can leave us feeling lost and confused at times. Finding our way back through understanding can be rewarding and helpful. Dr. Keri Chernuchin is licensed Psychologist providing individual, family and group therapy in the Syosset, New York community since 1999, and more recently, telehealth services. Dr. Chernuchin is also the director of Psychological FACTS (Family, Adolescent and Child Therapy Services), a small group mental health practice.

She has extensive experience working with and supporting children and adolescents to enhance their social emotional well-being. Hanna has worked with individuals with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and autism in a school setting.

Many times, a problem will manifest as a function of disruptions that are occurring in the environments in which the individual interacts with regularly.

We have extensive experience counseling clients with Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (Pregnancy and postpartum). My ideal client is trying to understand not only the root causes that created a less than optimal life functioning emotionally, socially, occupationally, academically, or intrafamilially, but the actual cognitive behavioral steps to remedy the problem. Most adults have a hard time understanding that children, especially very young children, can be in need of psychotherapy. In my private practice, where I specialize in the treatment of children and adolescents, parents bring children of all ages to me with a variety of reasons for their anxiety or depression. School related issues are quite common. Children who struggle with learning and attention deficit issues are prone to lowered self-esteem, often accompanied by behavior issues at home or in school. These children may also have developed problems making friends. Other children I see are feeling the effects of a transition or loss within the family. This could pertain to an illness, death, separation or divorce of parents, even the result of a parent's depression.
