I am the therapist and coach for “the strong friend.” I serve high-achieving, high-performing professional women who are the go-to problem solver and listening ear for just about everyone–often at the sacrifice of their own emotional health and wellness. My heart is for women, especially Black women, to experience freedom and liberation from toxic narratives around value and worth. You get to be complex, emotional, angry, sad, and not okay. You deserve to be cared for, attuned to, seen, validated, take up space, and live a life that brings you pleasure and joy. You get to prioritize you and not live a life of pure self-sacrifice.

"Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear." I know this to be true as much as anyone. Depression, anxiety, lack of assertiveness skills, and the fear of the unknown are just some of the challenges that make it difficult to navigate through life. But still, you deserve to live a life worth living. Nothing about you is a mistake. You are here for a purpose, and you deserve to hold space in this world. I can help you find your strength, your courage, and your truth in order to create the life you deserve.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life. Consider me a guide who comes alongside you on your journey. In the beginning, I will work with you to uncover what the true issues are. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to create change in their lives. Change can be scary, but you will not be alone in this process. Some of the topics we discuss may be difficult and uncomfortable. I will work with you at your pace and aim to create a trusting relationship with you. If I find that you may need more than what I can offer, I will refer you to a trusted colleague. This is about you, not me.

People of all ages experience and feel things in life with which they sometimes need assistance. For some, it is expressed in behaviors or inescapable feelings of sadness or anxiety while others carry with them the results of trauma they have witnessed or experienced. All people, from the youngest to the oldest need support and resources to help them through this journey called life. Counseling is a way to navigate our life experiences and early intervention can help to change the trajectory of a person's life from the youngest to the oldest.

I am currently not accepting new clients at this time. In addition to my Marriage and Family Therapy training, I have earned both a Masters degree and Doctoral degree in education. I have forty years experience as an educator. I have professional experience working with civilian and military families and couples, as well as, juvenile and adult learners.

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed psychologist specializing in evidence-based and holistic treatments for adults. Dedicated to work collaboratively with clients to help them feel empowered and able to achieve their goals. My areas of focus include: trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sexual trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relational distress, women’s health, cultural diversity concerns, insomnia, nightmares, chronic pain, health/wellness, adjustment concerns, Veterans, and first responder. I have worked and trained internationally, including the United States, Caribbean/Latina America, and India.
