I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of experience in the field of mental healthcare. Before opening my private practice, I worked as a therapist, family counselor, clinical supervisor, and clinical manager. I have extensive experience treating adolescents and adults for a variety of mental health conditions. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. My desire is to partner with my clients and help them through challenges to find purpose, hope, and balance in life.

It is one of life’s greatest honors to come along-side people who are seeking personal growth, adjusting to life changes, or working through life’s difficulties. My desire is to join others and create a trusting, safe, and understanding space to help them achieve their vision. I integrate a person-centered perspective with Cognitive Behavioral and Choice Theory in our work. Our work together may take many steps. Just stepping out to someone may be a first step in addressing life’s concerns. Another step may be moving into willingness then to action. Other steps may include self discovery, or celebrating or adjusting to life changes.

My primary focus in counseling is to meet people where they are, help them identify where they want to be, and enable them to accomplish their goals. I believe change is possible. I have witnessed my clients overcome and move forward after facing what seemed like insurmountable odds. Does it take work? Yes! But, is it worth it to become the individual (couple or parent) you want to be? Definitely!

I have approximately 15 years of experience helping those who suffer with anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, panic attacks, phobia, sleeping problems, social anxiety, performance anxiety or other anxiety related problems. My clients usually struggle with anxiety because they don't have the necessary skills to recover. My goal is to make sure my clients understand their condition and give them the skills to recover. In addition, I am able to coach others through the process of recovery because of my own recovery, where I suffered with severe anxiety, ocd, panic attacks, and phobias for most of my young adult life.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor providing counseling and psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and adolescents (17 years and older) in the Golden Triangle area. I am also a Mississippi Board Qualified Supervisor providing professional supervision for licensure. I work with a wide range of psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship issues, spiritual malaise, mid-life transitions and identity issues.

Kevin Armstrong provides professional counseling to families, couples and adult individuals. Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University and his Masters of Arts in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. My focus is to build a space that brings trust, understanding and compassion into the counselor/client relationship. I utilize a variety of counseling approaches. By the time many clients arrive at therapy, life has been exhausting for a while. Whether one is a therapy first-timer or an experienced client, my desire as a therapist is to foster an empowering space where clients feel comfortable exploring and unpacking the often heavy loads that they are carrying. My passion is for developing insight, knowledge, and skills that inform clients’ ability to create a more meaningful, healthy, and authentic life. I practice from a Dialectical Behavior Therapy lens, but incorporate Narrative Therapy and techniques from other modalities in order to best support clients’ diverse needs/backgrounds.
