In addition to my extensive training in various modalities, including Brain Spotting Phase 1, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Matrix Model, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I firmly embrace the notion that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Hey there! I'm on a mission to make happiness a reality for all ages. whether you're a teen tackling adolescence, an adult navigating life's challenges, or a couple seeking a stronger bond. My passion is supporting individuals through depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. I've noticed that, regardless of size, trauma often underlies various challenges. My ultimate goal is to guide you toward long-lasting happiness. I've seen the transformative power of healing, and I'm committed to creating a space that's supportive, non-judgmental, and comfortable. Let's work together to unlock the happiness you deserve!

We believe the only means to having long-lasting treatment outcomes is by providing holistic services which treat the whole person, Soul, Body and Spirit. We believe strong individuals produce strong families, strong families produce strong communities, strong communities produce strong cities, and strong cities produce a strong nation. We believe in order for treatment or services to be effective, clients/customers must be fully committed to the process and must take responsibility for bringing about positive change in their lives and/or communities.

I am an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and my best work is in treating depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders with co-occurring addiction disorders related to trauma. I am trained in EMDR and have basic and advanced training in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition to meeting clients in clinic, I also provide telehealth services. I understand that mental health disorders often present with isolation and strive to meet patients in settings that are familiar and comfortable to them.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves." Viktor E. Frankl If you find yourself asking why, you are not alone. The journey of life is hard and no matter how hard we try, sometimes we need the support of another on that same journey. My dream has always been to offer Christian-based therapy that does not feel like therapy but instead like hope and healing. I love people, I love to laugh, and I love to do things differently.

I created Live in Harmony Counseling to be a nurturing haven for anyone burdened by trauma, grief, or depression. I understand that life's challenges can leave us feeling weary and in dire need of solace. As a counselor, I'm here to embrace you. The good, bad, messy, silly — all of you. I can’t erase your pain or trauma. I wish I could, but I believe there is so much growth we can achieve from sharing our hardships, feeling our pain, and allowing ourselves to be imperfect as we heal. Trauma, life, and pain happen. This isn’t a way of minimizing our experiences, but to be ok with being sad, angry, anxious, depressed or just blagh.

Life can become chaotic at times in which we sometimes feel we cannot reach out or find someone to connect with that streamlines our path to growth and healing. Mental health can be a challenge and I believe everyone deserves a good quality of life. I realize each person looks through their own unique lens. I take great pleasure in understanding each individual’s worldview, and together, assist them to recognize their strengths and specific needs. I want to give everyone the ability to enjoy a life of happiness they deserve.

Motivational Interviewing Therapists

How does motivational interviewing work?

Motivational interviewing aims to uncover a person’s internal motivation to change their life. Toward this end, the therapist listens, empathizes, and collaborates with the client based on their perspective; the therapist doesn’t adhere to a predetermined plan for change or impose their viewpoint on the client. Discovering an individual’s most important reasons for change, and guiding them to achieve those changes, can empower people to shift from ambivalence to action.

Is motivational interviewing evidence-based?

Yes, research shows that motivational interviewing can help treat alcohol and substance use — and in different ways such as reducing drinking, reducing resistance, and increasing the likelihood of staying in treatment. Motivational interviewing has also been shown to help people lose weight, adhere to medication regimens, improve diet for those with Type II diabetes, and improve healthy behaviors in children.

How long does motivational interviewing last?

Motivational interviewing is a short-term therapy that can last just one or two sessions. In some cases, motivational interviewing may be used in conjunction with longer-term therapies, but for most people, motivational interviewing is a brief intervention that aims to help patients understand their personal, specific, and internal reasons for changing their life.

What differentiates motivational interviewing from person-centered therapy?

In person-centered therapy, the individual is in the driver’s seat of the treatment process, creating space for them to trust their instincts and arrive at their own solutions. The two approaches are similar because motivational interviewing is also client-centered; however, person-centered therapy is more open-ended while motivational interviewing is somewhat more structured; the goal is to change, and the therapist helps the client specifically discover their internal motivations to modify their behavior.
