We will process trauma, free up creative blocks, and develop self-love using Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and hypnosis.
Do you find it difficult to be kind to yourself? Do you feel as if your creativity is stifled? Do your relationships feel unmanageable? Perhaps you have been told you are too sensitive or that you think too much. You don't need to keep it inside. I know how important it is to feel seen and heard without judgement. I am good at identifying hidden strengths... strengths you may discount due to self-criticism and emotional pain. We can work together to help you love yourself so that you may be able to fully experience the love of others, accomplish the things you hope to accomplish, and gain a more positive perspective on your life.

I am practiced in relational trauma therapy, integration therapy with ketamine infusions, Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy (IFOT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in combination with somatic experiencing, guided imagery, nature-based healing and mindfulness.
Relationships are a vital part of all life. We learn about ourselves, others, & the world around us through our relationships. Trauma, oppression, abuse, emotional wounds, grief/loss, & many other challenges can be overwhelming, create disconnection, & leave us feeling hopeless. Under certain conditions (much like composting) those challenges can offer us a place from where we can learn, heal, & grow. This process is not linear and is unique to each of us. I'm dedicated to creatively collaborating with you to bring more ease and authenticity into your life & relationships.

Most of us are seeking some kind of peace in our lives. At times our lives feel off track. We feel stuck, and hungry for things to be different. I will teach you skills and tools to make the needed changes to create the life you want. I give homework at the end of every session to help change the patterns in life that aren't working. These tools will assist you in reconnecting with your own wisdom, and in guiding you to your own answers. It’s possible to live a life of peace and joy. Since COVID many clients have discovered Telemedicine is a very convient way to engage in therapy without having to leave work or home.

Whatever experiences life has brought our way, we continue towards wholeness and healing. Our inner drive is towards wholeness. Within a trusting therapeutic relationship we can nurture the part of us that allows us to heal, make better decisions and achieve the goals we desire. I really believe in the power that we all have to heal, make sense of our lives, and move towards the kind of life we would like.

Are you longing to live into the version of yourself you know you can be but feel totally lost in how to get there? Feeling pretty deflated by the weirdness of life and need some support in getting through it? A lot of us live with negative narratives that keep us trapped and living way below our potential. We can get stuck in faulty scripts that are reinforced by others, our experiences, and our beliefs about ourselves in the world. But what if you could change the script and live a more purposeful life? What if you could tell a new, updated story of who you are and what you're capable of? It's totally possible.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
