I work with men and women who struggle in their day to day lives to find joy and peace within their lives. So often we spent our time trying to be the person everyone else expects us to be and yet spend little time discovering and becoming our authentic selves. We all live in a reflective universe which will tell a story of ourselves by the world we create. Although I consider myself able to help in addressing a number of presenting problems, I feel that my strengths lie in teaching practical coping skills for stress, anxiety, and depression. Adjusting to new circumstances in life can be difficult and I feel that I excel in building a sense of self-efficacy in my clients by focusing on their strengths and identifying needed changes.

I believe the bravest thing we can do is embrace our true authentic self. Unfortunately, most of us have difficulty pushing through the negative messages that scream "YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN YOUR WORST CHOICE." We get stuck in our current experience as we wrestle with our fears, difficulty in our relationships and facing the grief of loss, convincing ourselves we do not deserve anything better than we can see right in front of us. I have a passion to help others find their authentic self and explore the barriers that may hinder them from expressing the powerful version of themselves that they long to embrace.

My primary role as your counselor is to focus on the relationship with you.. Your wellbeing is the main focus of the therapeutic relationship. While providing you a safe and confidential environment, I will be with you every step of the way on your journey toward healing and self discovery. My approach in the counseling relationship is not as an expert. Instead, my approach is as a supportive guide to help you reach your goals. I have a wealth of professional and personal experience working with a diverse population. This includes individuals, couples, families and children of all ages.

I am a board-certified clinical mental health counselor who is considered an expert in my field. Using an eclectic style of therapy, my work focuses on implementing evidence-based practices along with holistic practices to improve the identification and treatment of mental illness. I do not believe in "fixing" people because I am not a mechanic and people are not machines. I do feel that everyone has their own journey, and each path may be different, but it never hurts to have a guide. No matter what your past consists of it does not define who you are.

Second session is developing treatment plan goals and objectives with a Holistic Approach (mind, body and spirt) and starting the path of recovery. My name is Nathaniel Mitchell, and I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) based in the Central Mississippi area and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and adolescents and specialize in grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, oppositional behaviors, and attention-deficit disorder. I used various evidence-based interventions according to the specific needs of the client. I am motivated to work with adolescents and adults, who experience anxious and depressive feelings, trauma, stress, unstable mood, communication, and boundaries issues, to live more healthy and productive lives.
