People are often exposed to stressors and or traumatic events that at times can unravel emotions that seem to consume us. During these times it seems hard to find the light at the end of the tunnel. My passion is to help people find this light, to help heal from their past trauma and move forward. I assist my clients; school aged children and young adults in finding and changing their negative distortions and identifying their strengths in order to help achieve a peaceful, happy and whole perception of themselves.

I have a doctorate in clinical psychology, with over 30 years of experience working with a range of life issues, including relational and couple's difficulties, family dynamics, depression, anxiety, and clarification of life goals. I maintain a confidential and respectful approach in the process of facilitating personal growth and creative problem solving. In addition to my degree in clinical psychology, I have also obtained specialized training in Marriage and Couple Counseling, as well as Family Therapy and Parenting Issues.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Thanatologist, and a musician my unique practice blends two life passions, built on privacy, respect and trust, but most importantly, focusing on hope. I have enjoyed working with people struggling with addictions, dealing with anxiety and depression, trying to manage overwhelming thoughts that may seem to be out of control or hurt the quality of life. Recently I have been focusing more on couples and marriage counseling which addresses a growing communication problem couples have . Outward pressures of the internet and social media as well as the structural changes Covid has brought tremendous pressure on couples who feel there is no time to process and enjoy their relationship. These have been difficult times and many have felt the need for counsel to deal with concerns shared by all of us. At the same time, every therapy client is a unique individual and deserves care and concern for this. Problems in living can be lessened using "here and now" techniques such as CBT, and focusing on present concerns. They can also be alleviated by looking to the past to find where some issues had their beginning. Sometimes looking at both the present and the past is helpful moving toward goals. Either can help, and sometimes a combination is effective.
