Hi, my name is Karina and I am a master’s-level clinician with a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am currently working towards my licensure. I have worked in outpatient and forensic settings and have experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults with needs such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship/family needs. I am also fluent in Portuguese (Brazil).

As a Lifing Group (TLG) consultant, I guide adolescents and young adults to navigate academic & professional waters as they chart their course and broaden their horizons. I assist with organizational skill, motivation, building self-confidence, and accountability. Creating goal-oriented plans focused on their academic and career needs will lead clients towards achieving their goals with confidence to success.

It primarily targets the treatment of medical conditions that are exacerbated by stress and other psychological factors, such as: hypertension, diabetes, IBS, migraine headaches, TMJ, skin disorders, sexual disorders, and others. Behavioral Medicine specializes in treating conditions associated with habits and lifestyle, such as: insomnia, obesity, smoking. Behavioral Medicine interventions can be applied to the treatment of common mental health disorders including depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD, among others.

I currently treat a wide range of issues including, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, parenting problems, divorce, and life transitions. I use an integrative approach that includes relational, insight oriented, and behavioral based therapies. I am currently pursuing training in Internal Family Systems therapy. I speak Portuguese.
