You have the power to change your life and I'm here to show you what's possible.
I'm here to offer you a little hope - with some self exploration and support, I believe that it’s possible to find harmony in this chaotic world. I offer a nonjudgmental, openminded space where clients can explore the different parts of themselves, find their authentic self, learn how to establish boundaries, ask for what they need and in turn create healthy relationships with themselves and the people in their lives.

I do most of my work with adolescents and young adults, though also work with individuals outside of that range if the needs align! Specializing in anxiety, autism, life transitions, ADHD, self esteem, and LGBTQ+, I tailor each session to whatever you need ◡̈.
Hi! I’m Jenna, the therapist behind Gentle Minds Therapy (and a professional over-thinker turned listener). I specialize in working with teens and young adults because, let's be real, those are some of the most confusing and exciting years of life. My approach? Keep things real, build strong connections, and make sure our sessions are a no-judgment zone (I mean it—I’ve probably seen it all). When I’m not in conversation with a client, you’ll find me hiking with my dog, attempting to stay upright on a paddleboard, doing yoga, or hunting down the best ice cream spots (because life’s about balance, right?). I can’t wait to meet you!

When you know yourself better, and on a deeper level, you are better able to make decisions for yourself that will help you live a more happy, peaceful, and healthy life.
There may be times when you feel you can benefit from having an objective, nonjudgmental, and caring person help you move forward. I work with many individuals who are experiencing anxiety, stress, sadness, or just feel confused or uncertain about the path they are currently taking. You may be in a difficult relationship or feel that your anxiety and fear are preventing you from getting what you really want out of life. Sometimes support and clarification can really empower and motivate you to make changes that lead to better mental and physical health. Therapy is a an incredible opportunity to believe in the power of yourself.

Talk...it's how we connect. That means the quality of therapy depends on the communication abilities and wisdom of the clinician. I value listening to my clients, truly “hearing” their life stories (because we are so much more than a single story), their struggles and their triumphs...always with compassion and acceptance, and often with some laughter (it's very therapeutic!). Then, together, we examine how these experiences shape how they meet today's goals and challenges. Further, we explore ways they can use these experiences and personal strengths to overcome anxiety, sadness, anger and conflict.

I have a wide range of experience working with individuals and couples. I primarily focus on helping clients understand how experiences in their life have influenced their beliefs, behaviors, emotions and relationships. I think this helps clients understand what action they need to take to feel connected to themselves and others. If I can be helpful in deepening your relationships with others and self please give me a call.

I'd love to help you take back your body from crippling stress, anxiety, and PTSD because you deserve to live a life that's not so hard and a lot more comfortable.
Your stomach's in knots.Your heart races. Everything feels surreal. Stress and anxiety have a nasty way of hijacking your body and holding you hostage. Some days it's all you can do to not curl up in a ball and call in sick. It's exhausting trying to pretend everything's okay when actually, you're always on edge and about to lose it. What's even worse is when no one understands. They tell you to "get over it", "just relax", or "it's all in your head". It's enough to make you want to scream.

The inner voice is the most important voice in your life.
Are you seeing your potential, while hiding in your den, afraid to come out? Holding back when you know you should speak your truth? Reeling, drooping, withering; feeling cut off from your life force? Being simultaneously fired up and burnt out by your life’s mission? Sensitive rebels, struggling misfits, activists, artists, mystics, badasses, and folks who want to go deeper than the typical talk therapy: we see you. We're here to support you.

You deserve a therapeutic relationship where you can heal and grow and not just talk about healing and growing. Mental health is not the absence of difficult thoughts and/or troubling emotions that one can reason or talk away. Mental health is also not just an intellectual experience. Mental health is a full body integrated and compassionate relationship with those thoughts and/or emotions. Together we answer the questions, How can I love all these seemingly broken parts of me? How can I move through the pain towards a more peaceful life, body, mind and soul?

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
