Adulting requires problem-solving skills, including mastering emotions that may threaten to overwhelm us. I help individuals and couples who are ready to tolerate the anxiety of making changes in their own perspectives and behavior. Others may struggle with unwelcome changes (break-ups, losing a job, stepfamily issues) and need strategies to move forward with purpose and peace. I can help you, too. Although I highly value the intimacy of in-office sessions, I also offer Zoom sessions.

I have always had a desire to help people since I was a small child. As a young adult my interest began to grow towards the helping profession. My faith is important to me. It is my faith that continues to drive my profession as a therapist. I believe in life we experience so many things that effect how we think, live, and grow as a person. I wanted to gain more knowledge on how to be effective in helping people. So, then begins my journey to social work.

These avenues of experience have allowed her to hone her abilities to have an exceptional understanding and knowledge of how to treat her clients with great professionalism and a unique approach.

For over 40 + years I have been an advocate for children and families in need of mental health services. It has been gratifying to provide a milieu of services that has effectively met the needs of my clients. The knowledge I have acquired has been recognized by the Office of Juvenile Justice, Department of Children and Family Services, and Family Roads as a sound clinical practice. I have successfully implemented Parenting and Fathering Models which have had a micro and macro impact on service delivery in Louisiana.

Dr. Jantrell R. Johnson, LPC-S, NCC, LAC, CCS, holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern University and A&M College and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, LA. Jantrell has been counseling professionally for 6 years and provides clinical supervision to Master level interns, PLPCs and Counselors in Training (CITs). Jantrell believes that the counselor-client relationship is essential to effective counseling and views herself as a change agent in both the mental health and addiction counseling fields.

Misty earned her degree in Psychology and Sociology from Louisiana State University and a Master's degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University.
